WALL PIECE – A BEAUTIFULL MESS
#2024Feelings are universal, stories make the difference. 20+ people from all over the world, recently, formerly or never displaced created this handmade tapestry together. It is full of of stories and symbols engaged in conversations about loneliness, solidarity, togetherness and belonging. It was a truelly special and meaningful collaboration, crafting/sewing (together) is an ancient universal language that so many speak, and it brings you closer to each other (how corny it may sound). While designing it was interesting to dive into a new world of constructing images, I took middle eastern imagery and architectural construction/decoration as inspiration. The double sided wall piece can be seen in the restaurant ‘A beautifull Mess‘ Amsterdam.
