Animation of book of the month: A little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Made for the Dutch daily programme – ‘De Wereld Draait door’  (The world turns).
Together with Paul Postma (animator) & Nick Smith (sound design).

As the makers we had 8 days to read and make (700 pages!) – quite a challenge!

It is an intense story about a man who had a dramatic youth, this follows him his whole life, his past intensifies and creeps up apron him, but also on the reader. His friends are dear to him but never really get to know who he really is although they want to. They want to help him, but can’t: For him there just seems no way out.
